There are rumors surfacing about Google’s Pixel 7 smartphone. A recent leak from user KubaWojciechowski points to a new camera on Google’s upcoming Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. In addition, the leak mentions an alleged third, high-end Pixel device slated to launch in 2022. That device is expected to have the same main camera as the other two Pixel devices, but will also have a second, unannounced Sony IMX787 lens. It will also have a 13-megapixel selfie camera.
The Pixel 7 series of smartphones are likely to support fast charging of 30W, according to MySmartPrice. The phone is also expected to have an IP68 rating and an in-display fingerprint scanner. These features, however, are not guaranteed. For now, Google is not providing official specifications, but it’s rumored that the Pixel 7 will launch with image-based face recognition.
The Pixel 7 will ship with Android 13, a new version of Google’s mobile OS. The latest version of the OS is expected to bring new security features, per-app language settings, and 24-hour battery usage alerts. The Pixel 6 introduced the Tensor processor, which gave the smartphone a new set of capabilities and reduced power consumption. On the Pixel 7, the Google Tensor G2 processor is expected to improve photos, videos, and speech recognition.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7 will feature a 48-megapixel telephoto lens and 5x optical zoom. This makes both phones more capable of capturing high-quality photos than ever. In addition, both phones have face unlock capabilities. This feature makes it easier to unlock your phone if you’re in a hurry, and it’s not limited to selfies.
The Google Tensor chip found in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 will be used on Google’s next flagship device. This chip is similar to Apple’s A-series chips, but it lacked CPU performance compared to other Android smartphones. The new Tensor chip has two high-power Arm Cortex-X1 cores and four efficient A55 cores. The improved performance is visible on popular benchmarks.
The Pixel 7 series will feature a new metallic rear camera bar and three different color options. While the phone’s design is similar to the Pixel 6, there are a few key differences. The phone’s camera bar will continue to be located above the rear camera, but the two-tone glass design has been eliminated. There is a new metallic sheen on top of the camera bar that distinguishes the Pixel 7 from last year’s models.
The Google Pixel 7 is expected to be bigger than the Pixel 6 and includes higher-end specifications. While the Pixel 6 is a first-gen product, the Pixel 7 Pro are expected to launch in India in October. Pre-orders for these devices are set to begin on October 6, although Google has yet to confirm the exact release date of both devices.
